About Me

UX/UI Designer

Data Analyst
Photographer

I am currently working for Major League Baseball and freelancing.

My name is Casey Paul and I am a recent graduate from the University of Colorado Boulder where I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Information Science and a minor in Creative Technology and Design.

My research focuses on the different types of online data, accounts, and platforms the bereaved value when a loved one passes away in order to draw attention to the full life cycle of digital assets.

My interests are UX/UI design and research and how we can make social media and other online platforms a better experience for their users. Even though I am interested in UX/UI, I enjoy telling stories through numbers and visualizations.

 Research

What I do

My research focuses on the digital afterlives of our online data.

Beginning in January of 2020, I started working as an undergraduate research assistant for The Identity Lab at the University of Colorado Boulder. I began by helping with miscellaneous projects surrounding the needs and preferences of data and online platforms for deceased users and how both the dying/deceased and the bereaved needs can be met.

I am currently part of three ongoing studies:

The impact of content and relationships on preferences for the accounts and data of deceased loved ones

My project explores the impact of content and relationships on preferences for the accounts and data of deceased loved ones with the goal of creating a guide for how designers should address different types of online platforms, accounts, and data in order to better support the bereaved by creating new or improved processes for post-mortem data management.
